George Charles Mater Jr.

George Charles Mater Jr., born on February 28, 1942, departed this life on May 30, 2025. A devoted husband, cherished brother, and loyal friend, .

He was the beloved husband of Gerri, whose partnership with George was a testament to enduring love and companionship. Together, they created countless memories filled with laughter and joy.

George was a proud brother to Janice (Derril) Smith, Carole Hoerig, Cathy (Dave) Johnson, Bill (Beth) Mater, and Kevin (Evelyn) Mater. 

Also remembered fondly is his brother-in-law, Tom (Linda) Finiak, and his favorite pet Suzy Q.

As we remember George, we celebrate a life filled with love and laughter. He will be missed deeply by all who were fortunate enough to have known him.

A Memorial Gathering will be held on Wednesday June 18, 2025 at Witkowiak Funeral Home, 529 W Historic Mitchell Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin from 5 PM to 6:30 PM with a Memorial Service at 6:30 PM
