James A Peters

July 3, 1966 — June 4, 2025

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James A. Peters, age 58, of Greenfield, Wisconsin, who left this world peacefully on June 4, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family.

Jay was a devoted husband to Dena (Miller) Peters, with whom he shared 27 beautiful years of marriage. Together, they crafted a life rich in love, laughter, and unwavering commitment to their family. As a proud father, Jay instilled in his sons, Dillon and Zachary, the values of strength, humility, and compassion—qualities that will carry on his legacy. Proceeded in death by his father-in law Paul and mother-in-law Kathy who he shared a special bond with and created countless treasured memories. Also proceeded in death by his beloved mother, Valeria, who held a special place in his heart. Also survived by his sisters Corynne Lynch, Kelli Smith (David), and brother Mark Peters. Jay also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews who he loved dearly.

With over 25 years of experience as a locksmith, Jay earned the trust and respect of his community through his exceptional skill and integrity. His tenure at Whitlow Security allowed him to forge relationships that will endure beyond his years. Early in his career, he worked at the Milwaukee County Zoo, where his strong reputation inspired his son, nieces, and nephews to explore opportunities in that vibrant environment. Jay also dedicated five years to coaching youth baseball and football, where he not only mentored young athletes but also instilled in them the values of respect, responsibility, and character.

A passionate Wisconsin sports enthusiast, Jay found joy in cheering for the Milwaukee Brewers, the Bucks, and the Green Bay Packers. He was an active participant in several softball leagues, including Liquid Johnny's, Lynch's, Doyle's, and Paragon. A proud graduate of Pius XI Catholic High School Class of 1985 and a student at Carroll University, Jay cherished his time spent at the family cabin, where he created lasting memories with Dena and their sons, escaping the demands of everyday life.

A celebration of Jay's life will be held on Friday June 20, 2025 at St. Mathias Catholic Parish, 9306 W. Beloit Road, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The visitation will start at 10 AM until 12 PM, with a Mass at Noon. The family invites all who knew and loved Jay to join in honoring his memory.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests memorial contributions to assist them during this difficult time. Your kindness and support mean the world to us.

Jay will be deeply missed and forever remembered in our hearts.
