Susan M. Harenda

November 29, 1948 — May 22, 2026

On Friday May 22, 2026, my beautiful wife of 56+ years, Susan "Sue" Harenda (nee Moczynski) passed away peacefully at ProHealth Waukesha Memorial Hospital, surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous battle against multiple medical challenges. She is preceded in death by her parents Leo and Emily Moczynski and sister Sandra Umbs.

She is survived by her husband Robert “Bob” Harenda, son Mark and girlfriend Niki Eichner, daughter Jennifer Schiller and her husband Jim and grandchildren, Ashley, Kaylee, and James III. She is further survived by her sister Angeline Leslie (nee Mocyznski) and her husband Jerome Leslie of Beverly Hills, Fl, and niece Suzetta Leslie-Jordan.

Sue was a 1967 graduate of Nathan Hale High School of West Allis. She is a former employee of J.C. Penney, Harnischfeger Corp., MGIC – Mortgage Guarantee Insurance Corp. and Mary Linsmeier Schools – Children’s-Edu-Care, 20 years’ service.

Her greatest accomplishments in life were quite effectively not having her picture taken, only referring to her husband as “Bob” one time during 56 years, 8 months, and 28 days of marriage, and for putting up with him for that long.

She found immense joy in life, taking care of babies, loved her grand-fur babies Cody and Georgia, enjoyed antiquing road trips, train travel, collecting snowmen and pieces for the Christmas village under the tree.

Decorating the house, especially Christmas, Halloween and Easter, was something she looked forward to, and took great care to make our home a warm and welcoming place for all who visited.

We want to thank Dr. Kelsey Koening and her Care Team at ProHealth New Berlin for their loving and compassionate care and Dr. Logan Elongovan and the team at Nephrology Associates Waukesha for the kind and compassionate care they provided Sue over the years. I would also like to thank Dr. Olafsson, and the Care Team at Davita PD Bluemound especially Nurse Nicole and the rest of the team, Lisa, Sue, Tracy, Heather, Lexann and Sandy, and the Care Team at Davita South Hemodialysis at Waukesha Memorial Hospital.

Our family would also like to thank Dr. Ali Zuber of ProHealth Heart and Vascular Center and his care team, especially Nurse Kelly, for the excellent care they provided Sue and finally Dr. Shaik Sayeed and his team at Aurora Health Center

Visitation will be held on June 3, 2026, from 4 PM-8 PM at Witkowiak Funeral Home, 529 West Historic Mitchell Street, Milwaukee Wisconsin.

Entombment will take place on June 4, 2026 at 10:30AM at St Adalbert Cemetery, 3801 South 6th Street, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Please arrive by 10:00 AM and park in the parking lot of the Cemetery Administration Building located on your left as you enter the gate from 6th Street.
