Teodoro Rivera, lovingly known as “Cholo,” passed away in April 2026 at the age of 68. Born on August 12, 1957, Teodoro lived a life defined by strength, individuality, and deep love for his family.
Teodoro was the only son among eight children, a role that shaped both his identity and the special bond he shared with his sisters. He was ours—the only boy. And that is what will always remain.
He was a devoted son, a beloved brother, uncle, a proud father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Family was at the center of his life, and while he walked his own path, he carried love for all of us—even if he only stayed in close contact with a few.
He lived life on his own terms—steady, stubborn, and real. Teodoro was a man who faced life in his own way, carrying both his strengths and struggles quietly. Through it all, he remained present and hardworking in the ways he knew how. His love for his mother, his sisters, his nieces and nephews, his children, and his growing family was constant. His passing was sudden and unexpected, leaving his family with unanswered questions and a profound sense of loss.
To his children, he was more than words can fully capture—a father who loved in his own way, who carried his own battles, and who left behind lessons that will continue to unfold over time. His presence, his voice, and the pieces of himself they carry will remain with them always.
Despite the pain of his absence, his family holds tightly to the memories, the lessons, and the love he gave in his own way.
He is survived by his loving mother (Lucila Dejesus); his sisters (Marta Rivera, Myrta Reyes-Soltis, Migdalia Reyes Perez, Luci Reyes Agron, Yesesnia Reyes Nicoson); his children (Theodore Rivera, Arlene Rivera, Israel Santiago, Magaly Nuñez, Michael Rivera); grandchildren (14); great-grandchildren (2); many nieces and nephews and extended family who will continue to carry his spirit forward.
He is preceded in death by his sisters Ivette Muñiz and Luz Maria Reyes.
Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate his life on Friday, May 8, 2026, at Witkowiak Funeral Home in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. A procession to Forest Home Cemetery will begin at 1:00 PM, with burial to follow at 2:00 PM.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude for the love, prayers, and support shown during this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express.
