In Loving Memory of Virginia Pineda Coronado

Virginia Pineda Coronado, age 83, passed away on September 24, 2026. She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and the heart of her family.

Born on March 13, 1943, Virginia was the daughter of Antonio Castillo Pineda and Anita Mena Pineda. Throughout her life, family was at the center of everything she did.

Virginia shared 63 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Jose Francisco Coronado. Together they built a life and a family that became Virginia’s greatest joy and proudest legacy. Through the many seasons of life, their marriage created the foundation for generations of a family she loved so deeply.

Virginia was the force and will of her home, a strong woman whose love, determination, and presence helped hold her family together. She had a generous heart and found great joy in helping others. She gave of herself freely and showed her love not only through words, but through the countless things she did for the people around her.

Her desire to help others extended well beyond her home. Virginia dedicated 31 years of service to United Migrant Opportunity Services (UMOS), where she held numerous positions throughout her career. She served as a receptionist, community worker, acting supportive services supervisor, employment and training specialist/case manager, and transportation coordinator. Through these many roles, Virginia spent decades assisting individuals and families and serving the community she cared so deeply about.

Virginia was also proud of her Hispanic and Mexican culture and generously volunteered her time in support of cultural and community events, including Fiesta Mexicana and Cinco de Mayo celebrations. Her commitment to learning continued throughout her adult life as she furthered her education at Milwaukee Area Technical College (MATC). Her years of service, education, and community involvement reflected something that came naturally to Virginia, her desire to help people and make a difference in the lives of others.

Some of Virginia’s happiest moments were the simple ones. She loved helping her son plant flowers in her yard, and she took great joy in playing Mexican bingo, surrounded by laughter and family. She was an amazing cook and brought people together around her table through the meals she lovingly prepared. She also loved to dance, filling life with music, movement, and joy.

Above all else, Virginia loved spending time with her family. Her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were the center of her world.

Virginia is survived by her husband of 63 years, Jose Francisco Coronado, and their three children, Javier Coronado, Michael Coronado, and Lisa Ann Coronado.

Her grandchildren include Javier Jr., Angela, Noemi, Jay, Francisco, Michael Jr., Cecilia, and Joseph.

Her great-grandchildren include Jordyn, Gabriella, Alexander, Isaiah, Nataliah, Amiah, Sofia, and Niko.

Virginia leaves behind generations who will carry her love, strength, traditions, and memories with them. Her recipes will be remembered, her flowers will bloom, the music will bring memories of her dancing, and family gatherings will forever carry a piece of her presence.

She was more than the matriarch of her family. She was its strength, its warmth, and its heart.

Though her family will deeply miss her physical presence, the life Virginia built and the love she gave will continue through her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and the many people whose lives she touched throughout her 31 years of community service.

Her love will remain in our hearts, her strength will live within us, and her memory will forever be a blessing.
